If you want to contribute on creating and maintaining new and complex systems for simulation software, VSTEP has the perfect opportunity for you!

As an Software Engineer Intern within VSTEP you will get the chance to work on the simulation core or any of the peripheral systems of our software solutions. Together with your supervisor you will set a project for you to work on. Your supervisor and your team will be your guide along the way to help you succeed and reach your internship goals.

Our internship assignments are not set in stone and can be adapted, before you start, based on your skills and desire to learn. The areas in which we can provide opportunities for an internship or graduation project range from Front-End Development and Tooling to Graphics, Physics, Procedural Content Generation, Virtual/Mixed Reality and AI and Machine Learning.

VSTEP provides a unique work environment for software engineers to work on real-time interactive simulation software that aims to train professionals in the maritime and response & safety industry.
We work in smaller teams of each 3-6 software engineers that each have their own team lead. Within a team with domain and usability experts and product/project engineers, your technical know-how and software expertise is of importance. Your input is most valuable as you can balance requirements, performance and complexity to aim for the best fit solution.

Is this you?

You are:

Looking for an internship position or graduation project as part of you education or studies
A team player, but also able to operate independently.
Easy to communicate with.
Interested to learn new technologies.
Able to share your knowledge with your colleagues.
Located in the Netherlands.

You have:

Good communication skills in English.
An enthusiastic and quality-oriented attitude.
Basic programming knowledge (Python, C++, C#).
Excellent analytical skills.

A flexible working environment. We work in a hybrid remote-office (Rotterdam) approach.
You can choose your own working hours between 07:00 and 19:00.
